RECREATIONAL TEAMS 3rd - 5th

Starting in 2022, Lakeridge Pacers Youth Basketball began offering a recreational, no-tryout program for 3rd - 5th grade boys and girls players. We participate in the South Metro Recreational League (SMRL) which is made up of teams from the surrounding southwest communities outside of Portland.  Eligible players will reside in the Lakeridge High School district and/or attend a feeder school such as Hallinan Elementary, Palisades World Language School, Westridge Elementary or River Grove Elementary.

Registration for the Rec Team has closed.

Is there minimum play time?
Yes, there are minimum play time requirements.

Coaches are expected to maintain equal playtime standard for each game. These standards are intended for players who the head coach observes as maintaining non-disruptive behavior and consistent game and practice attendance record. These standards apply for any game during a season (officiated or not) and any game during the year where Lakeridge Pacers jerseys are being worn.

For players in 3rd, 4th and 5th grades: All players need to play at least 50% of the game and they need to play every game. (This is based on a 10-player roster, adjust as needed.)

How long is the Recreational season?
The season is expected to run from November through early March. Practices are expected to start in November and games will either start in December or January.

What is the season format?
Each team will play 10 regular league season games plus participate in an end-of-season league tournament consisting of 2 more games. Most, if not all games, have official league referees.

When and where are games played?
Games are usually played on Saturdays. They are played in our home Lake Oswego School District schools or at neighboring school district schools including Canby, Sherwood, Tigard, West Linn, Tualatin, Wilsonville, Milwaukie and Putnam.

How is this league different from Little Hoopers?
Little Hoopers is a recreational program primarily for Kindergarten through 2nd graders (although Little Hoopers is open to 3rd graders for an early fall session before our season starts). Games are played against other Lake Oswego school district teams in the Little Hoopers program.

Fees for the players are $200 for the season and includes the jersey.
